One Touch Of Nature Tag

What I thought would be
a simple tag, turned out to be a two day affair. Sometimes I just can't get a project worked out. This is not what I started out to create, although I rather like the end result.

I began by cutting a tag
from 7 Dots Studio Nature Walk "Songbird", brushed on a thin coat of gesso at the bottom of the tag and when it was dry, dragged it though Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint Distress Ink that I rubbed onto my craft mat and misted with water. Now more ink (the two previous ones plus Bundled Sage) sponged on through my Tim Holtz Burlap layering stencil. I edged the tag with Frayed Burlap DI after first sanding it a little where I applied the gesso. The next three layers are Idea-ology Wallflower papers cut with Alterations Frameworks Courtyard, Vintage Cabinet Card Mini (cut in half), and Mini Hearts. That stack is topped with an old K & Co. 3-D sticker.
The florals began with
two pieces of Recollections kraft cardstock cut with Alterations Mini Branch and inked with Frayed Burlap DI. I popped those up with foam mounting tape then added a variety of I Am Roses flowers. I sponged on a bit of Bundled Sage DI to the pale green rose. The leaves are more of the Wallflower paper that I stamped using Frayed Burlap DI and Stampers Anonymous Nature Walk. These I shaped with a paint brush handle before gluing down. I colored the seam binding with the Bundled Sage and Frayed Burlap DI. The wide eyelet is from We R Memory Keepers. I'm beginning to think I should have put some seam binding through it, too, but right now I want to start on something else.

Thanks for stopping by!

Your tag is just beautiful, Linda! Isn't it amazing how they can take on a life of their own and end up not at all like you originally planned? I really love it!

This tag is amazing, Linda! I recognize that 3D sticker from K & Co. in there. :) I have a pack of those, too.

I was just reading posts at LeAnne Pugliese's blog, and thought of your husband when I saw this card: http://weeinklings.blogspot.com/2014/09/tsot184.html

Hope all is well. I see your blog has been quiet for some time. Hugs to you!
